Chinese tourists now have direct access to Aklan, the gateway to the world-famous Boracay Island of the Philippines

Shanghai and Hangzhou now have direct flights to Kalibo, Aklan in the Philippines according to a tourism official. Kalibo is the gateway to the world-famous Boracay Island.

The chartered flights from Shanghai, the largest city in China with over 20 million people, will be carried out by Shanghai Airlines starting July 26, while the flights from Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, will be carried out by Philippine Airlines starting July 27.      

On July 19, the twice-weekly chartered flights from Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong in China, to Cebu commenced, further boosting the vibrant tourism industry of the province.

The inaugural flight through the China Southern Airlines was sold out, and several Chinese tourists from the largest city in one of China’s wealthiest provinces have been inquiring about the chartered flights.
